Policy
Establishing policy is the fundamental way for an organisation’s leadership to set an agenda and make its expectations clear and consistent. Strong policies empower everyone in the organisation with a clear framework for decision-making.
Policies should address an organisation’s external programming priorities, as well as its internal processes.
Policies such as Equity and Inclusion Policies and Anti-Racism Policies, along with strategic plans to implement them, are crucial to creating a supportive culture and formalising processes to tackle problems in the workplace, such as racism or bullying, as well as barriers to inclusion, such as discrimination and privilege.
Policies that activate change require a plan, that includes measurable indicators of success and a method of evaluation.
