It’s important to tap into the knowledge, experience and networks of arts professionals representing a range of cultural traditions in order to ensure high standards of excellence in diverse cultural programming.
How do I do it?
As with diversifying your board and leadership, it’s helpful to create a team matrix to assess the attributes and skills of your decision-making team. If gaps are identified, activate your networks to reach communities that aren’t currently represented. Start with your industry networks to seek recommendations and reach out to organisations who represent artists of colour in your industry.
You can also develop an advisory group who can review your program and provide advice.
