Equity, diversity and inclusion happens best when we work together. Leading an organisation can be a lonely place sometimes, but it doesn’t have to be. Creating meaningful strategic partnerships in the workplace and within the community can be incredibly effective in creating a action-based, healthy and positive diversity and inclusion culture in the workplace.

This can help to open new conversations, ideas and experiences — and help to uncover conscious and unconscious biases in a safe space.

How do I do it?

  • Create an employee-led multicultural employee resource group (ERG), creating a safe space for colleagues to feel included and heard.
  • Create opportunities for exchange and sharing of lived experiences; highlight intersectionality
  • Make meaningful strategic partnerships with community organisations and companies who have experience, skills and knowledge in this area
