Bringing Caste into the DEI Conversation
Article examining the harmful effects of caste discrimination, that can exist in South Asia and South Asian diaspora communities. Includes four steps for organisations to become more aware of caste in their diversity, equity and inclusion efforts:
1. Add caste as a listed, protected category.
2. Include caste as part of employee inclusion surveys.
3. Create awareness on caste equity, for example inviting speakers.
4. Set strong KPIs to measure equity progress for caste-affected communities.
