Hyphenated Projects

Hyphenated Projects

Hyphenated Projects is a platform for artists with transcultural practices and a collective that presents, collaborates and develops new ideas.

Hyphenated Projects focus our work on supporting artists who operate with the hyphens—culturally, socially and geographically.

Hyphenated Projects acknowledges the Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin Nation, on whose lands and by waterways we gather, connect and create. We acknowledge that this land was never ceded and we occupy it as uninvited guests. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present, and our deepest gratitude to all First Nations peoples who continue to nurture this place we called home.

Hyphenated Biennial 20-22

The inaugural Hyphenated Biennial is a multi-venue exhibition that focuses on dialogues, solidarity and meaningful collaborations between First Nations and Asian diasporic artists.

Across Melbourne’s West and online, the biennial presents a collective project that held us through the turbulent years of 2020 and 2021.

Artist Residencies

We offer artist residencies in a fully equiped, suburban house located in Sunshine West, Melbourne.

This is a space for development, experimentation, gathering and retreat for artists, writers and creative producers in our communities.
