First Nations Framework

Science Gallery Melbourne celebrates and acknowledges the Traditional Owners and custodians of the land on which we work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present and acknowledge First Nations people as our first artists and scientists.

The site of the new Science Gallery building in the Melbourne Connect precinct was the place of ceremonies of celebration, initiation and renewal for the local Aboriginal peoples and we embrace their continued connections to this place. It’s our aim to centre and highlight First Nations people in everything that we do.

Ngaluri - Our First Nations Framework

In partnership with INDIGI LAB, Science Gallery Melbourne created a discussion paper to support a First Nations Framework to guide better engagement with First Nations peoples.

Through community consultation of this discussion paper and recommendations from key stakeholders, a framework is being developed that includes important ideas and aspirations of First Nations peoples.
